(anthonys.com/restaurants/detail/chinook-at-salmon-bay) – Fisherman’s Terminal, Magnolia neighborhood, Seattle, Washington

How I heard of this place: My sister-in-law first suggested it to my husband and I several years back. This was the first time I had the chance to enter, and sample!

Type of cuisine: Seafood.
Ambiance: “Chinook’s at Salmon Bay is a casual, high-energy seafood restaurant located in Seattle’s Fishermen’s Terminal.
This unique location has been the base of the North Pacific fishing fleet since 1913 with over 700 commercial fishing vessels calling it home. Chinook’s is perfect for family dining.
“To Go” style service available at Little Chinook’s in the plaza area next to the restaurant.“
What I ordered: Having already enjoyed a delicious egg breakfast at home, and finding our way to Chinook’s right around lunchtime, we opted for brunch items on the menu. We were offered fresh, warm mixed berry scones with orange butter in a basket to start.
My husband selected the Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes ($13.45): golden pancakes prepared following a traditional Northwest recipe, served with whipped butter, warm maple syrup and hickory smoked bacon. Of course, he had to have a side of sausage ($5)!
For my sister-in-law and I, and at the recommendation of our server, Simone, selected the Roasted Garlic Prawns ($15.95): butterflied, roasted with garlic butter, fresh lemon and sprinkled with gremolata.
What I loved: Yum! The scones, to die for! The butter-lemon sauce so good, we ate the prawns then threw the vegetables in to soak up all the goodness!
Why I loved it: Delicious food, great views, excellent service. And child friendly. Win. Win. Win. WIN.
Cost: Average to high ($12 – $18 per entrée)
