(uneedaburger.com) – Fremont neighborhood, Seattle, Washington
How I heard of this place: On a mission to try all of the best burgers in Seattle, Uneeda often makes the list. It earned it’s place in our line-up after a high recommendation from a good, local friend who lives up the road in the Phinney neighborhood.
Type of cuisine: Burgers.
Ambiance: The hipster vibe is strong among these wooden walls with exposed ceiling, hanging metal lamps, and pipe space separators.
Enter from the side, past the outdoor patio with garage door opening up to the indoor patio,
to find limited decorations on the walls,
the menu taking up the majority of wall real estate.
cramped seating abounds throughout the dining area and into the – surprisingly warm – indoor patio,
where we took our seats and awaited the good stuff to come.
What I ordered: In our party of four (plus a little one), we shared the Garlic Cheese Fries ($5)
and the Chili & Cheese Fries ($6).
The purist among us ordered the 1/4 pound Classic with Romaine, tomato, pickles and special sauce alongside an order of the Hand-Cut Fries ($2.75), and accompanied by a Strawberry Shake.
My husband and our other dining companion each selected the BBQ Smash ($9) with charred onions, bacon, cheddar and BBQ sauce.
I went with the server’s favorite: #8 Crimini Mushrooms ($9): porcini & black truffle salt, shallots, Gruyere cheese and truffle mayo, alongside an order of the Poutine Fries ($4) topped with beef gravy and cheese sauce.
What I loved: The Chili & Cheese Fries were my favorite of the three fry options I sampled. Our server had every right to pick #4 as his favorite! It easily stole the show of burger options at our table!
Why I loved it: A tasty burger, done right; hand-cut fries with potato skin and an abundance of cheesy goodness.
Cost: Average to high ($5 – $13.50 per burger, no sides included)
