(raincityburgers.com) – Roosevelt neighborhood, Seattle, Washington
How I heard of this place: A burger place popped up in a neighborhood I spent some time, so, of course, I had to check it out. Now, five years and an expanded space (with seating!) later, I returned.
Type of cuisine: “Rain City Burgers is a fun and friendly restaurant serving delicious burgers, fries and shakes. At Rain City Burgers we serve only fresh and natural beef patties with no added hormones, no antibiotics and 100% vegetarian fed diet.
Rain City Burgers was open in June of 2010 with a mindset of serving an excellent burger using the freshest ingredients. The owners of RCB have been in the restaurant business for the past few years with a great passion of serving customers with quality burgers. The idea behind RCB is to provide wide range of quality burgers from beef, chicken, salmon, buffalo and vegetarian in the freshest possible way.
Besides our quality burgers, RCB also represents the city of Seattle and all its sports teams. We take a great pride of our local sports team and therefore most of our burgers are named after them. Upon arriving to RCB, you can expect great quality burgers, friendly customer service and great sports atmosphere. Let’s all be proud of our city and our teams. Thank you very much and we hope to serve you soon in the future.”
Ambiance: Seattle pride rains supreme in this blue and green nook on the corner of NE 65th Street and Roosevelt Way NE, where lines make their way out the door and patrons criss-cross to get to the soda fountain. Place your order at the walk-up counter, then take your seat in one of the two adjacent rooms to the right, bedecked with Seattle sports paraphernalia, posters and more. Clean and sleek, the rooms, though small feel spacious and open with daylight streaming through the street-facing windows.
What I ordered: Sounders Burger ($7.99) with cream cheese, jalapeño with garlic, bacon, Pepper Jack cheese on a Special Bun (no pickles).
My dining companion selected the BBQ Burger ($6.49) with caramelized onion, Cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce, and a side of tater tots ($2.99).
What I loved: The Sounders Burger with its creamy cream cheese paired with spicy Pepper Jack and smoky, crisp bacon. Oh yeah.
Why I loved it: Plenty of options for all flavor profiles, a neighborhood joint with friendly staff and perfectly satisfying fare.
Cost: Low to average ($4.79 – $7.99 per burger)
