How I heard of this place: While on a little walking adventure of Pioneer Square with a long-time friend, she got the sudden craving for a slice of pizza. It was only after taking our seats that we knew we needed more than a slice.
Type of cuisine: Pizza! Pizza galore!
Ambiance: A family-run and family-oriented space, this Pioneer Square staple has truly won over the hearts of many a diner. The Calozzi family makes good food in a truly unpretentious space with few frills and all the flavor of a Brooklyn style pizza pie.
High ceilings, graced only with a couple of chandeliers,
a wall-full of framed photographs that only take up a portion of the concrete wall space available,
and a meager kitchen area, a flat screen television providing the only color around;
these are the things that make up the interior of the family-owned pizza shop in the neighborhood.
What I ordered: While seated, the two of us split a small Tomato Pie ($7) topped with garlic ($1), olives ($1), mushrooms ($1) and roasted red peppers ($1).
To take away – for my husband – I selected the small White Pie ($8) with roasted red peppers ($1), mushrooms ($1) and garlic ($1).
What I loved: The white pie in all of its fresh, ooey, gooey, cheesy glory. Yum!
Why I loved it: Friendly staff, a set of regulars that have found a second home in this establishment and a simple pie unlike any other.
Cost: Average t0 high ($7-$26 per pie, dependent on size)
