(brotherskcoffee.com) – Evanston, Illinois
How I heard of this place: Our Evanston-ite friend, a local to the neighborhood and promoter of local coffee establishments.
Type of cuisine: The finest, smoothest coffees prepared by trained and eager baristi accompanied by savory or sweet, tasty morsels from fine local businesses.
Ambiance: “Frequented by people from many walks of life, the shop has become a beloved neighborhood hang-out and a popular place to work for telecommuters and students.”
What I ordered: A small Hot Cocoa ($2.50) in a soup-bowl mug.
My dining companions chose a medium Vanilla Latte ($3.60+), times two, and a large Caramel Latte ($4).
What I loved: I only tasted the hot cocoa, but it’s foam held a melt-in-your-mouth fluffiness, and dark chocolate with a hint of vanilla-sweetness that made for its easy journey across my tongue and down my throat.
Why I loved it: The space is reminiscent of a college town hot spot, with very limited seating, know-it-all baristi and intriguing music mixes.
Cost: Average ($2.50 – $4.78 per espresso bar beverage)
