How I heard of this place: Oprah. Who hasn’t heard of Oprah’s favorite Seattle-based fried chicken? But I took the opportunity to sample it for the first time earlier this summer when a friend and I decided it was high time we used the Entertainment book coupon!

Type of cuisine: Southern fried chicken and fixin’s. Simple. No frills or gimmicks.

Ambiance: Grab ‘n go. No seating is available at this location. Order at the counter and the food is boxed up for you, bagged and ready to eat! Make sure to grab sufficient napkins because this is finger food at its best!

What I ordered: A friend hosted us and generously provided the spicy fried chicken, coleslaw and famous light biscuits in muffin-shape.

What I loved: It’s all about the spicy chicken. The horseradish in the coleslaw dressing added oomph.

Why I loved it: The food is consistently great. I loved the quick pick-up and the delicious sides accompanying the you-can-go-wrong SPICY fried chicken.

Cost: Average ($6-$10 for individual 2-4 piece meal; family sized meals available for around $16)
