(elliottsoysterhouse.com/cafe-56) – Alaskan Way Waterfront, Seattle, Washingon

How I heard of this place: Walk by any day in the summertime, and you’ll know this place exists. This visit was brought to you by Yelp and an offer for free ice cream to ring in the new season!

Type of cuisine: Elliotts Oyster House in a casual, walk-up window setting. Also available is seating with water views and about as much seafood as one can want.
Ambiance: Beautiful, casual, waterfront. Large windows facing the water, which gives nearly every seat a view of the Sound.
What I ordered: Well, since ice cream was free, it was on the mind. I chose the Mocha Almond Fudge and my husband selected Cookies & Cream.
What I loved: The Cookies & Cream was tastier, and not missing a key ingredient, like the fudge in the Mocha Almond Fudge. Generic ice cream with a near freezer-burn taste, but hey, it was free.
Why I loved it: Beautiful location. Easy walk-up window for takeaway orders and a gorgeous day in the sun with my family.
Cost: Free. One day only.
