(earnesticecream.com) – Quebec Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

How I heard of this place: We spent the morning with our friends and their six-week old baby boy. In celebration, we hit up some of their favorite spots, this ice cream pit stop among them.
Type of cuisine: “Working in small batches allows us the flexibility to experiment with foraged ingredients like fresh spruce bud and elderflower.

We feature rotating, seasonal flavours like these alongside classics like salted caramel and mint chip.

We also serve espresso and affogatos (espresso poured over ice cream) using locally roasted Matchstick coffee.”

What I ordered: For me, Cookies & Cream (CAD$5), for my husband Cookies & Cream and Salted Caramel (CAD$7), and an Earl Grey Donut for good measure.
What I loved:Both the Cookies & Cream and the Salted Caramel had to be the best I have ever had. No joke. With it’s chocolatey look, creamy goodness and plethora of cookies, the Cookies & Cream is a must on every visit (when it’s available), while the Salted Caramel had the perfect sweet combination with just the right touch of salt (not too much, like every other ice cream shop)!
Why I loved it: You can easily taste the commitment to quality. “Earnest Ice Cream was born from friendship and a shared love of ice cream. Since we launched in 2012, our goal has been to create ice cream that expresses our passion for flavour and a business that embodies our values.” Plus, it seriously is good. “Our name represents the honesty and conviction we bring to what we do. For us, being serious makes the whole thing more fun.“
Cost: Average to high ($5 for a single scoop)
