How I heard of this place: My husband was scheduled for a last-minute work trip to Spokane, and, in the midst of a busy day found this place on Yelp. Good thing.

Type of cuisine: Chicken-N-More is recognized as a down home place that serves up the best fried chicken, moist and meaty pork spare ribs and farm-raised catfish from Alabama.

Come to enjoy our southern hospitality and relaxing atmosphere while savoring the best Southern style food in the Northwest.

Chkn-N-Mo Inside

Ambiance: Small, dark and wood-paneled, the space, while quirky and clean takes second place to the food being served! Chkn-N-Mo Looking Towards Front
A long, narrow rectangular establishment, rows of framed photographs, awards and even license plates line the walls where patrons can take seats in booths underneath.

A small bar is also available for seating right up near the order counter, where the kitchen magic takes place!

A family owned and operated establishment, the friendliness of the South comes through in every step! Today, the kitchen and crew consisted of the owner’s daughter and granddaughter!

What I ordered: My husband had decided for both of us before I had even had a chance to pull up a menu online! We shared a 4-piece Chicken Dinner ($15.69) with breast, thigh, leg and wing served with our choice of two sides: greens and gumbo (complimentary small helping of baked beans for our little one).

We also shared the Rib Dinner ($14.59) with three ribs, a roll, and two sides: mashed potatoes with gravy, and red beans & rice.

After sampling devouring everything, and meeting the owners, a gorgeous husband and wife team, we simply could not pass on dessert! Made fresh, daily, by the lady of the house, we had warmed up Peach Cobbler ($2.69) and Sweet Potato Pie ($2.69).
Chkn-N-Mo Desserts
What I loved: The lot. I’d eat it all again. And then again. The ribs were so tender, they just slid off the bone, the mashed potatoes creamy, the fried chicken crisp and golden, the red beans and rice simple yet abundantly flavorful. The Sweet Potato Pie was – surprisingly – our favorite of the two desserts!
Why I loved it: The friendliest restaurant owners and family that I have come across to date is reason enough to love a place. Combine that with delicious food and patrons who frequent a space, and you have a winning combination. This will certainly be one of our go-to’s on trips over the mountains.
