(simplydessertsseattle.com) – Fremont neighborhood, Seattle, Washington

How I heard of this place: A corner cake shop? It’s easy to spot, smelled from any direction up the road. Brightly colored and friendly staff make it worth any word of mouth advertising.

Type of cuisine: “Simply Desserts has been rated one of the top bakeries in the Pacific Northwest region for over twenty years. Each unqiue recipe is made from scratch – we use only premium quality, all-natural ingredients. Old-fashioned American desserts with a contemporary twist.”

Ambiance: Quaint, cozy, vibrant and sweet, this family-owned and operated establishment is truly what makes Fremont the heart of Seattle.
A blue and red exterior with large windows shedding natural light into the tiny, orange and yellow space,
perfectly sparsely decorated with a handful of black and white photographs, a barquette with stool seating and a handful of tables with chairs available to those enjoying a slice of cake (or two) with a cuppa java. It only takes one glass display case entices patrons with a selection of stunningly delicious sweets!
What I ordered: At my husband’s request, we shared one slice of the Strawberry White Chocolate Cake ($4.85).
What I loved: Fresh strawberries.
Why I loved it: It’s truly what makes local businesses strong: heart, smiling staff, and a quality product worth every penny.
Cost: Average ($4.85 per slice of cake)
