Mr&Mrs Wok

How I heard of this place: When we moved into the neighborhood, and met a now good friend, we were introduced to Mr. & Mrs. Wok as being the best Asian food in the area, let alone Seattle. Now that our friend is planning a move across the globe, we felt it was high time we tested his theory.

Type of cuisine: Asian fusion: with teriyaki, bulgogi, Chinese and…burgers.

Ambiance: Simple and new,

sparse yet tasteful, clean and neat.

What I ordered: To start, we shared the Seattle Rolls ($5.99): a mix of vegetables, tofu, and shiitake mushrooms wrapped in rice paper,

as well as the deep fried Egg Rolls ($3.49).

Our dining companion – a regular, whose order was known by the server – got the usual Mango Cashew Tofu ($8.99): breaded tofu with mango chunks, pineapple and cranberries,

while my husband and I shared the Beef Bulgogi ($9.99): Korean style marinated beef served on a sizzling hot plate,

and the Combination Bento ($16.99) with Chicken Teriyaki and Grilled Salmon, served with steamed rice, pot sticker, egg roll, steamed broccoli and namul (steamed bean sprouts) with homemade sauce,

miso soup and fresh salad to start.

What I loved: Beef Bulgogi, followed closely by the Grilled Salmon stood out the most. The surprise best side in the Bento was the steamed bean sprouts, and the Seattle Rolls were good enough to order again!

Why I loved it: Friendly staff, clean space, fresh food served fast in a family-friendly environment.

Cost: Low to average ($7.99 – $18.99 per dinner entrée/Bento)
