Local Burger

How I heard of this place: Conducting a random internet search, I happened upon an article sharing the up-coming grand opening of Local Burger, sister to the Seattle-based Local 360. Of course we had to try it! So, I invited four of my closest friends and my husband and I, too, had the opportunity to delight in the long wait for our bacon-laced burger patties!

Type of cuisine: If you’ve discovered this page in search of great burgers, know you’re in good company. This is a place for bacon-laced patties, hunks of bleu cheese, and get-your-hands-juicy burgers. So juicy your hands will be a hot mess, but who the heck cares ’cause it’s a burger and that’s how it should be. Don’t be ashamed friend, you’re just doing it right.

Now, if you’re here searching for vegetarian options, you’ll find we have those, too. Some of our best friends are herbivores, so we get it: vegetarians like good burgers too.

We wall want to feel good about what we eat, but we want you to feel great about what you’re eating. That’s why at Local Burger we are committed to providing quality food and beverages from local farmers that care about their product. We’ve got terrific burgers, sandwiches, salads and sides all made with love, in-house, from locally-sourced ingredients.

And don’t think we’ve forgotten about you, dear beer lover! In addition to our tasty wine and cocktails, we have 24 tap handles and are all about pouring you that perfect cold one.

Good burgers, beer, and cocktails, locally sourced from people who care. If you love those things too, then come by and make some burger buddies.

Ambiance: Dressed to the tune of Local 360, the sparse, yet homey feel of Local Burger gives patrons the sense that they can sit, linger for hours and get to know the names and stories of their servers and bartenders.

The clean-cut Spanish tiled rooftops, the wood paneling indoors and out, the industrial light fixtures truly take you back to the Old West,

while the clean lines, metal chairs, cement floors high-backed booths bring you right back to the hipster world that now characterizes the city of Seattle.

What I ordered: To start, my husband and I shared the Tender Greens Salad ($7) – among ourselves and with our dining companions.

As a table, we also enjoyed Beet Deviled Eggs with Aleppo Pepper and Chives ($4), as well as the PB&J Bon Bons ($4) served with a shooter of milk.

Our main entrees included two orders of The Hillbilly ($12), topped with uber-sweet house made BBQ, fried red onion and baby greens,

two orders of the Banh Mi Burger ($14), a lemongrass beef & bacon patty topped with daikon slaw, cilantro and Rooster aioli,

one – for me – of the Pork Verde ($14), a ground beef & bacon patty topped with house-preserved peppers, Jack cheese and greens,

and a last order of the simple Butcher’s Grind House Burger ($10) with lettuce, cheese, house-made red pepper relish and aioli.

What I loved: The PB&J Bon Bons! Yum. And yum. The beef & bacon patties, too, completely obliterated any desire to ever have any other patty. Ever.

Why I loved it: Local 360 in Old Bellevue; a great spot, nice ambiance and a flair for creating a delicious burger. Too bad for us that it’s not just up the road.

Cost: Average ($10 – $14 per burger)
