How I heard of this place: A walk along First Avenue, making one’s way around the Pike Place Market one cannot help but be enticed by the wafting smell of deep fried balls of falafel goodness.

Type of cuisine: Mediterranean fare at its best including everything from Spanakopita, Baba Ganuje and Hummous, Salads, Shawarma, Kabobs, Falafel and all the delicious sides you crave.

Ambiance: Reminiscent of walks through the falafel shops in Israel, this open-windowed shop, complete with indoor-outdoor barquette gives patrons the Middle Eastern experience not only through the setting, but also through its tasty food.

What I ordered: Four falafel pieces ($0.75 each), gloriously set atop a bed of Romaine lettuce, topped with a drizzle of creamy tahini.

What I loved: Tahini drenched falafel balls. O.M.G.

Why I loved it: The perfect setting for a warm afternoon snack or bite with food quality and flavor taking one back to the small streets and alleyways of Haifa, Israel. Heaven.

Cost: Low to average ($4.99 – $9.75 per entree)
