Mt Bakery

How I heard of this place: The first creperie in Bellingham, it was a hard place to miss for a crepe fan.

Type of cuisine: We are a family owned bakery and creperie featuring local, organic ingredients in everything from our award winning scratch baked treats to our breakfast and lunches, [serving soup, quiche,  espresso and all the baked treats you love] like our life changing Eggs Benedict.

Ambiance: Patio seating on a hot, sunny spring afternoon welcomes patrons through the windowed front entryway.

Inside, the yellow walls with paintings from local artists create a warm and ambient seating area

directly ahead of the extensive kitchen and bakery.

Low-volumed tunes from the 80s play overhead bringing a smile to the faces of each and every 30-something diner inside the establishment as well as those seated in the outdoor patio, as we await our freshly made entrees.

What I ordered: Immediately knowing that I fancied a crepe, I selected the savory Turkey & Gouda Crepe ($9.95) generously stuffed with thinly sliced Hemplers turkey, Dutch Gouda cheese and avocado, served alongside my choice of the Yellow Split Pea soup.

My husband selected the Hot Turkey & Gouda ($7.95) made with tangy house cranberry relish, thinly sliced Hemplers turkey, Dutch Gouda cheese, red onion and mayo.

Our dining companions enjoyed the Hot BLAT ($8.95), a BLT with avocado piled high with Hemplers thick-cut bacon, mayo, fresh organic greens and tomato,

and the Classic Breakfast ($6.95) including two scrambled eggs, potatoes and whole wheat toast, with the addition of veggie patties ($3.25).

What I loved: The fresh, abundant, thick-cut slices of avocado in my crepe and the fresh, warm marrying of flavors in the Hot Turkey & Gouda sandwich. The Yellow Split Pea soup added creamy yet light enjoyment with its soft texture and medley of flavors.

Why I loved it: An easy-going atmosphere paired with generous portions of deliciously fresh food: what’s not to love?

Cost: Average ($6.95 – $9.95 per breakfast or lunch entree)
