Ted’s Montana Grill

How I heard of this place: It’s right around the corner from our apartment building.

Type of cuisine: Ted’s Montana Grill is a classic American Grill featuring fresh, made-from-scratch comfort food within an authentic turn-of-the-century Montana grill atmosphere.

Ambiance: Old world saloon meets classy neighborhood grill.

What I ordered: After having tried Ted’s on Valentine’s Day earlier this year, we both fell in love with the Bison Nachos! We couldn’t wait to get back in to use our Anniversary coupon: Free Appetizer of Choice. So, two orders of Bison Nachos later, and we were set for the evening! Our tortilla chips topped with Karen’s “Flying D” bison chili, fresh grated Pepper Jack, shaved green onions, diced tomatoes, jalapenos, and sour cream were not enough for Chris, who also ordered the Blue Creek ($16) bison burger, inspired by Ted’s Nebraska Blue Creek Ranch, with Bleu cheese and smoky bacon.

On a return visit, Monday, 4 February 2013: Chris was craving bison nachos, so we headed back to our neighborhood Ted’s. On this visit, I enjoyed an order off of the Kid’s Menu: Grilled Cheeze ($5) with a side of fries.

Chris also ordered the Blue Creek, inspired by Ted’s Nebraska Blue Creek Ranch, with Bleu cheese and smoky bacon, which he had to save for lunch the following day…

What I loved: The Bison Nachos, while more salty than previous trips, was made fresh to order and abundant enough to satisfy! The fries, which accompanied Chris’s burger, too, were something quite stellar.

Why I loved it: Ted’s commitment to the environment and eco-friendly nature, good food, served quickly, served fresh and all in a cozy neighborhood grill.

Cost: Average to high ($11-$28 per dinner entree)
