How I heard of this place: I learned of Red Mango at Pacific Place, specifically, one day while walking from the parking elevators towards the shopping concourse. I’m sure a few years ago, when frozen yogurt first made its comeback since the 1980s, I had heard of it again. This is the first sample I have had since the 1980s.
Type of cuisine: Frozen yogurt and other frozen treats, including smoothies, parfaits and iced teas.
Ambiance: A grab ‘n go kiosk-like booth strangely situated in Pacific Place.
What I ordered: My friend was ordering the tropical mango smoothie, and I noticed a fourth limited time flavor option: Madagascar Vanilla, which I had to sample. A generous sample was offered, free of charge.
What I loved: While tangy, as is to be expected with yogurt desserts, the taste of vanilla emboldened the white, creamy frozen yogurt.
Why I loved it: The smoothie was made to order, the sample was offered without question or demand of additional purchase and the was a perfect frozen bite for a hot, summer day.
Cost: Average to high for ice cream/frozen yogurt ($4-$6 per cup)
